Hudson Regional Hospital has always maintained a commitment to the health needs of our community. Surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, this commitment has never been more important to us.Â
As the designated Hudson County COVID-19 testing site, Hudson Regional Hospital has screened more than 15,000 residents, first responders, and emergency workers at its onsite drive-through screening program. We have treated over 300 individuals with COVID-19, and couldn’t be more proud of our doctors, nurses, and staff who continue to go above the call of duty to get our community through the crisis.
While we understand there may be concerns about coming to a hospital amid a pandemic, we would like to assure you there’s no need to put your health on hold. Learn more about the steps Hudson Regional Hospital is taking to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and provide a safe and reliable place to receive care.Â
COVID-19 Treatment Area
HRH has constructed a COVID-19 treatment area separate from the facility’s normal operations to continue to address the healthcare needs of its surrounding community safely while fighting the pandemic. This includes special check-in arrangements for patients coming to the hospital for possible COVID-19 infections.Â
Restricting Visitors
We have updated our visitor policy to reduce the number of individuals entering our facility, and therefore, the risk of exposure for patients and staff.Â
Masks and Hand Sanitizer
All staff, patients, and visitors are required to wear a mask at Hudson Regional Hospital, including in the facility and the parking lot. Hand sanitizer is provided at numerous areas in the hospital for use by staff, patients, and visitors.Â
Screening, Temperature Checks, and Testing
All patients and visitors are screened for COVID-19 symptoms and must have their temperature taken before entering the hospital. Doctors, nurses, and all other hospital staff are also tested frequently.Â
Cleaning and Social Distancing
Common areas like waiting rooms, lobbies, and restrooms are cleaned often with special attention to shared surfaces like doorknobs and handrails. Patient rooms are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between each patient. To support social distancing, we have rearranged certain common areas and designated spots where patients should be seated to create more space between individuals.Â
These safety precautions are guided by the Centers for Disease Control and Infection (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the New Jersey Department of Health, and are an addition to the high safety and cleanliness standards always in place at Hudson Regional Hospital.Â
Hudson County residents experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should call (201) 388-1097 or (646) 862-1161 to be pre-screened for the by-appointment, drive-through testing site.
