Bio
Dr. Ragukonis is the medical director of Bergen Pain Management and is board-certified in pain management, pain medicine, and anesthesiology. He did his residency training at the prestigious Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Ragukonis grew up in New Jersey and earned his BA degree from Rutgers University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He then attended the Rutgers Medical School (UMDNJ), where he graduated in 1991 having obtained his degree as a medical doctor. After completing his residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, he immediately began his private practice in Bergen County, New Jersey. For over 20 years, Dr. Ragukonis has developed Bergen Pain Management into a premiere minimally invasive pain management practice with emphasis on minimally invasive spinal techniques.
Dr. Ragukonis continues to keep abreast of the latest cutting-edge spinal interventions including endoscopic discectomy, minimally invasive spinal fusion, spinal implantable devices which include: SCS and DRG stimulators, as well as intrathecal pumps. Dr. Ragukonis also collaborates with neurosurgeons and Board-Certified orthopedic spine surgeons in many instances. While Dr. Ragukonis’ education and certification attest to his knowledge, his patients’ results are the justification for his recognition in these areas.
Dr. Ragukonis is also known for achieving dramatic improvement in pain without major surgery. His patients acknowledge him to be a compassionate, caring physician with an excellent bedside manner. Dr. Ragukonis is a clinical assistant professor at Rutgers University.
