Bio
Daniel Walzman, M.D., graduated first in his class from Rutgers University, where he received a Presidential Scholarship. He continued his outstanding academic pursuits at the Rutgers/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He was the youngest resident to complete neurosurgical training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He completed an additional two years of subspecialized training in endovascular neurosurgery and interventional neuroradiology.
Dr Walzman is dedicated to the advancement of the treatment of cerebrovascular disorders. He was the first physician in Bergen County to utilize the Merci retrieval device for the treatment of ischemic strokes. He was among the first neurosurgeons in New Jersey to perform minimally invasive embolization procedures for the treatment of intracranial aneurysms and AVM’s. Since open surgical procedures for the treatment of aneurysms and AVM’s are also an integral part of Dr. Walzman’s refined skill set, he is able to offer a full array of treatment options with an unbiased opinion as to the most appropriate treatment. He also continues to offer the full array of cranial and spinal neurosurgical care and has a particular interest in the treatment of spinal trauma.
Dr. Walzman is a member of the American Association of Neurological surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, New Jersey Medical Society, New Jersey Neurosurgical Society, New Jersey Spine Society and the Bergen County Medical society.
