Bio
Dr. Hooman Azmi-Ghadimi received his bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University. He received his medical degree with honors from New York Medical College, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
He completed his neurosurgical training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where his main focus of research was intraoperative MRI and its applications to neurosurgical procedures, as well as mechanisms of epileptogenesis. During his residency, Dr Azmi-Ghadimi was honored with the Arnold P. Gold Award for Humanism in Medicine.
In June of 2006, Dr. Hooman Azmi-Ghadimi was selected as the Center for Neurological Restoration’s Clinical Fellow at the Cleveland Clinic to pursue his interest in surgical treatment of movement disorders. He also was actively pursuing his investigative interests, using his expertise in neuroimaging to refine techniques for deep brain stimulation surgery, as well as research on the neuropsychological outcomes in patients with Parkinson’s disease who have undergone DBS.
