He served as the Chief Resident in Neurosurgery at both the University Hospital and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
Dr. Karimi has actively conducted clinical research in the fields of cerebrovascular neurosurgery, neurocritical care, neurosurgical anatomy, flow dynamics of intracranial aneurysms and biomechanics of the spine. He is the author of over a dozen abstracts which have been presented at national neurosurgical meetings and is the author or co-author of multiple peer-reviewed articles in major neurosurgical journals. He has presented and lectured extensively at both national and international neurosurgical meetings. Additionally, he is the author of multiple textbook chapters in highly referenced neurosurgical textbooks including Youman’s Neurological Surgery (6th edition), Benzel’s Spine Surgery: Techniques, Complication Avoidance and Management, (3rd edition), The Cervical Spine (5th Edition) and Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology, Theory and Clinical Practice.
In addition to completing his residency in Neurological Surgery, Dr. Karimi completed advanced fellowship training in both microvascular neurosurgery and endovascular neurosurgery at North Shore University Hospital in New York, where he trained in the latest techniques in the treatment of brain aneurysms, vascular tumors, stroke, and vascular malformations of the brain and spine.
Dr. Karimi maintains one of the busiest neurosurgical practices in New Jersey and at the same time offers a personalized, one-on-one approach to each of his patients with emphasis on a patient-centered care philosophy and high-quality outcomes.
