Bio
Dr. Saraswati Dayal attended medical school at Howard University – MD. Residency and fellowship at UMDNJ in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Dayal then moved to Hackensack where she started her career as an attending trauma surgeon. Dr. Dayal is the Director of 3 North, Surgical Stepdown Unit. She is a Physician advisor, ATLS director, and wound care director at several sites. Offers general surgery, burn surgery and wound care. Dr. Dayal wanted to be a physician her whole life because she wanted to make a significant difference in people’s lives. Dr. Dayal didn’t just want to treat patients, she wanted to cure them, surgically. Dr Dayal chose trauma because she enjoyed the idea of thinking on her feet in high pressure situations and making decisions that would help the patient to the fullest extent. Dr. Dayal found that she was able to do so on a high level, so she pursued trauma and critical care. Specialty’s offered but not limited to are general surgery, burn surgery, and wound care.
