Bio
Dr. Shady E. Hassan is a Board Certified Physiatrist with a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine. He completed his fellowship training at Alabama Orthopedic Spine and Sports Medicine Associates (AOSSMA), as well as rotating at the world-renowned Andrew’s Sports Medicine Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to this, he completed his residency training at the State University of New York, Downstate, serving as Chief Resident in his final year.
Dr. Hassan attended St George’s University School of Medicine. He currently remains an active member in multiple medical organizations including the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, Spine Intervention Society, American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and the New York Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Hassan specializes in non-surgical interventional and medical treatment of headaches, neck and back pain. He utilizes state of the art techniques that are both nonoperative and minimally invasive in an effort to return function to his patients.
Dr. Hassan is an expert in epidural injections, facet joint injections, sacroiliac joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, vertebral augmentation/kyphoplasty, discography and intradiscal steroid injections. He also performs ultrasound-guided peripheral joint injections for the treatment of a wide range of musculoskeletal pain secondary to acute injuries, sports-related injuries, and chronic conditions such as arthritis. In addition, Dr. Hassan brings to his practice great knowledge and experience in Regenerative Interventional Medicine. He incorporates Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Stem Cells for the treatment of refractory Tendon Injuries, Osteoarthritis, and Neck and Back Pain.
Dr. Hassan believes in a multifaceted approach to pain management. He treats each patient as an individual, formulating a systematic treatment plan to restore function, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life.
